Air Products Zambia
Air Products increased it’s global presence when the supply of gas to Anglovaal Mining’s Chambishi Metals plc in Zambia commenced in January 2001. Air Products supplies 85 tons a day of oxygen, nitrogen, as well as plant and instrument air to the Chambishi Metals facility on the Copperbelt in Zambia off an on site cryogenic air separation plant. Chambishi Metals uses the gases in its cobalt and copper recovery and refining operations.
This was Air Products South Africa’s first on-site supply in Zambia where Air Products erected, owns, operates and maintains a plant and supplies gas on an over-the-fence basis.
