Air Products Chemical Reaction Cooling Using Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid nitrogen is the most effective way to cool down a chemical reaction, to temperatures below -40C for faster reactions with complete temperature control.
Air Products fully engineered systems provide an economical solution for direct, semi direct or indirect cooling methods. The power of liquid nitrogen as a refrigerant, coupled with uniformity of the exchange fluid, ensures perfect chemical reaction temperature control. For indirect cooling systems, the gaseous nitrogen may be re-used in other plant processes to improve overall process economics.
Benefits of Air Products Reaction Cooling Systems
Versatility
Regardless of the reaction or exotherm level, the reaction temperature is absolutely controlled by maintaining, increasing or decreasing the flow of liquid nitrogen.
Economic
Installation costs are a fraction of mechanical systems.
Minimum Maintenance
With few moving parts and simple temperature control, Air Products’ systems are reliable and easy to maintain.
