Taking the lead to provide a secure supply of industrial gas to the Eastern Cape industries, Air Products proudly launched the first air separation unit (ASU) in the Eastern Cape in the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) in November 2014. The impact of this investment and its contribution to economic growth was highlighted with Air Products being selected as one of the Top 50 Companies in Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) for 2017.
Air Products shows support for customers at Machine Tools Africa 2017 15 May 2017
Air Products prides itself with outstanding customer service and they highlighted this at the Machine Tools Africa 2017 exhibition in Johannesburg last week. The sales and marketing teams provided support to key customers, the majority of them being original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These customers make use of Air Products gases for laser cutting processes. The team from Air Products was on hand at the show to answer technical questions and explain processes to visitors.

Air Products’ long term corporate social investment (CSI) beneficiary, the Touch Toy Library in Rustenburg, is able to touch the lives of even more young children in the province, thanks to the recent donation of the Toy Library trailer. The Touch Toy Library has received long term ongoing support from Air Products to expose children at early childhood development (ECD) centres to the basic skills required for education through play.

Joy for three Vanderbijlpark schools, thanks to Air Products 06 February 2017
Air Products created a special ‘G-Plant CSI Fund’ when they launched the ‘G-Plant’ at their facility in Vanderbijlpark in 2014 with the aim of utilising it for upliftment projects at schools in the area. Today, they celebrate the completion of the projects at Seeiso Primary, Lebohang Secondary and Bophelong Primary Schools. This time, the unveiling is far from an industrial project but rather a much needed school hall, kitchen and enclosed assembly area.

Air Products South Africa’s investment in a 224m² aquaponics system at the Randvaal Primary School proves to be a successful model for schools to teach children the skills of producing their own vegetables and for the school to become self-sustainable. Teachers and learners at the Randvaal Primary School in Daleside, Midvaal, whoare extremely motivated by their successful cucumber crop of more than 75kg in last December, attended a training session and planted vegetable seeds this week.
